Frances Smith

Frances Smith, age 83, of Springville, AL passed away January 26, 2021. She was a native of Montgomery, AL and was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. She served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in January of 1962. She was a volunteer at Medical Center East as a Pink Lady for several years. She enjoyed watching westerns, gardening, camping, traveling, but her favorite pass time was fishing. She raised rabbits and chickens. She was an outspoken person and passionate about those she loved. Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard K. Smith; her parents, Joe and Lucy Whetstone; brothers, Joe Whetstone, Jr., Wesley Whetstone; sister, Pearl Davis. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Carrie Young (Kenny); two sisters, Maves Culp and Carolyn Hvolboll; a sister-in-law, Joy Henderson (Rod); numerous loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in Trussville at 3:00 p.m.
