Frances Godsey

Frances "Trudy" Hood Godsey, 68 of Irondale passed away on December 31, 2010. Trudy was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She had retired from the Social Security Administration with 28 years of service and was a member of Del Rio Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father A.J. Hood. Survivors include her loving husband of 34 years, Max Godsey; four children, Trudi Brooksher (Rick), Wayne Collier (Rebecca), Brian Godsey (Sue) and Marty Godsey (Shari); her mother, Gertrude Hood; one sister, Beth Dickinson (Bill); six grandchildren, Mandee Homan (Joe), Erika Collier, April Godsey, Meghan Godsey, Trey Brooksher and Natalie Godsey; two great grandchildren, Tyler Homan and Peyton Homan; niece, Terri Dickinson; nephew, Stacy Dickinson (Laura) and numerous family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4 beginning at 10:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel services at 12:00 PM with Bro. Stephen Sherill officiating and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Jimmie Hale Mission. Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
