Floyd Eugene Wadsworth, a native of Dixiana and a resident of Birmingham passed away on October 11, 2010 at the age of 85. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mona Porche Wadsworth; two daughters, Eugenia (Will) Martin of Utica, MS, Ginger W. Hurd of Clay, AL; one granddaughter, Holley H. Moore; one great-granddaughter, Rebecca Ellen Moore; one brother, Harold (Pat) Wadsworth of Dixiana, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd J. Wadsworth and Mamie Able Wadsworth; one brother, Charles Wadsworth and one sister, Inez "Sis" W. Askew. Gene served his country in World War II aboard the destroyer escort USS Wildman. He was a retired Postal Worker of 30 years. He was an early member of the Rebel Road Ramblers and avid stock car fan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 13 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Thursday, October 14 at 11:00 AM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East with Father Andy Kennedy officiating. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
