Floyd "Doug" Stewart

Floyd “Doug” Stewart, age 74, passed away on February 9, 2025. He was born December 4, 1950 and grew up in Fairfield. He attended Fairfield High School and was active in sports and the band. He went to Auburn University on a wrestling scholarship. Doug retired from the US Air Force and US Air Guard (117th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing, Birmingham, AL). Mr. Stewart was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and worked at United States Steel. Doug was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Hazel Adams Stewart.

 Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife Sheryl Holmes Stewart; sister, Mary Stewart Prinz; daughters, Tamara (Zac) Thompson; Rebecca (Robert) Medkeff; grandchildren, Connor, Van and Goldie.

 Visitation will be on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. There will be a Graveside service at 12:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
