Fay Powell

Fay Ponder Powell, age 78, passed away on April 6, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Julia Stephens; her brother, Ray Stephens; her son, Terry Ponder, Jr.; and her daughter, Catherine Ponder. She is survived by her husband, Charles Powell; her daughter, Teresa Ponder Witte (Mike); her son, John "Jack" Ponder (Patty); grandchildren, Jennifer Ponder Lawing (Tony), Patrick Ponder (Jessika Tidwell), and Dustin Witte; and great granddaughter, Teagan Lawing. She was a member of Christ Church. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama where she earned a double major in 3 years and was one of the original teachers at Cathedral Christian School. After a career change and a degree in Travel and Tourism, Fay became manager of Total Travel in Center Point for 20 years until she retired. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Jefferson Memorial Trussville at 12:00pm, with her life-long friend Lester Robinson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
