Evelyn P. Sharit, age 91, of Birmingham passed away on February 18, 2015, happily joining her husband of 67 years, Grady, in Heaven. She was born to Filo and Nancy Pugh who are predeceased, along with four sisters and four brothers. She was a member of Tarrant Rock Methodist Church for years and of Huffman Methodist for over 23 years, serving both churches well.

Years ago, she made a vow to God that she would serve her church anytime she was needed. Consequently, she taught second graders Sunday School for years, served in every possible office in the United Methodist Women, and was secretary to many Methodist ministers until she retired at Tarrant Rock Methodist Church. At Huffman she taught the friendship Sunday School Class until she could not see well enough to continue. Everyone said she was a great teacher.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lee (Gene) of Trussville; son, Ron Sharit (Dianne) of Pelham; 4 grandchildren: Shannon Sharit, Tonya White (Scott), Jarrett Lee (Jana) and Steve Sharit (Brandie); 6 great grandchildren: Caleb Lee, Miklayla Cardwell, Carly Sharit, Morgan Lee, Benjamin Sharit, and Brooklyn Sharit, as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was fondly known as "Nana" to all the grandchildren.

Service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior. Burial will be followed by the funeral services. Reverend John Drawhorn is officiating. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Big Oak Ranch, P.O. Box 507, Springville, AL 35146.
