Born November 16, 1912 to Fred C. Tucker and Hassie Wear Tucker. She lived in Clay most of her life and was currently living at Fair Haven Nursing Home in Birmingham, AL. She was a member of Clay United Methodist Church since 1930. She served as a Sunday School teacher, President of United Methodist Women, recording secretary and membership secretary. She started the first lunchroom at Clay Elementary School in 1949. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joe Curtis Self; daughter- Marion Self Jones, Son - in- Law Carl C. Jones; brothers: Connie Tucker, Grant Tucker, Clifford Tucker, Daniel Tucker and Roy Tucker. She is survived by sister, Christine T. Self of Clay, Sister-in-Law Frances Tucker and numerous nieces and nephews and special friends. She was a member of Clay Senior Citizens since 1973. She retired from UAB as Food Services Manager after 15 years. After retirement volunteered at Lake Villa retirement home. Funeral Services will be at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Trussville, AL. A funeral will be held at 12:00pm with a visitation one hour prior. With burial in the adjoining cemetery. Special thanks to all who cared for her at Fair Haven Retirement Home and Oasis Hospice. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Clay United Methodist Church in Clay Alabama.
