EVELYN CLARK MARLIN ROTTON PATTILLO peacefully passed away at home May 30, 2020, at the young age of 101. Evelyn was born January 22, 1919, to Florence Clark and Carroll Knox Marlin. She was fourth of 12 children, reared in Fairmont.
At 17, after graduating from Jefferson County High School, Evelyn eloped with Connor Rotten to whom she was married 63 years. They lived in Center Point where she made her home for 84 years. Evelyn later married her high school sweetheart, Paul Patillo.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husbands and her son, Sherman. She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Snow of Birmingham, brother-in-law, Marvin Mann of Jacksonville, FL, and her daughter, Gail Hannah of Pinson. Also surviving her are 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Never has there been a more fun-loving woman! Evelyn enjoyed making people laugh and having a good time. She was very generous, a fantastic cook, and adored her family.
A graveside service was held Wednesday led by Hospice Chaplin Ron Mensinger.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Southern Care New Beacon Hospice for their care and compassion. They would also like to thank caregivers Julie Baker, Dominique Smith, Moliccan Banks, Enjoli Hill, and Jamie Olson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
