She graduated from Jefferson County High School in the class of 1947. She raised her family in Pinson, Alabama after following her husband's Navy career that took her to Florida and Maryland. She was a faithful member of the Palmerdale United Methodist Church where she served in multiple positions of lay leadership including service with children, youth, United Methodist Women and overseas missions. Her life will be honored with a funeral service at the Palmerdale United Methodist Church on Thursday February 16, 2017. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and the funeral will be at 2:00 pm. The funeral will be followed by a graveside service at the Remlap Methodist Church Cemetery.
