Evelyn Brown

Evelyn Allen Brown, died Monday, December 26th, 2011 at her home in Birmingham she was 79 years old. A retired social worker with the Jefferson County Board of Education. Mrs. Brown was born in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of James Lavohn Allen and Vera Hunt Allen, who were both from Arab, Alabama. She was a graduate of Arab High School Class of 1951. She and her late husband, Granville Ayers Brown was married for 42 years. She was a member of Huffman Baptist Church. She was an accomplished bridge player who spent many hours enjoying her favorite pastime activity. She is survived by her two sons, Michael L. Brown of Clay and Joel L. Brown of Guntersville; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Cagle of Ft. Payne, Al. Services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Bryon Miller officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
