Eugenia Pugh

Eugenia (Jeannie) Barksdale Pugh was born on April 30, 1926, and passed away on March 8, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Harrod Pugh, her parents Burrell and Minnie Barksdale, and her brother and sister-in-law Wesley and Margaret Barksdale. Even though she had no children of her own, she leaves many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, great, great nieces and nephews, and cousins who love her very much. She attended Brookside church of Christ where she had many friends. Several years ago, she retired from working at Alabama Power Company in the payroll department for 45 years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, going on weekly outings with close friends, being an active member of the Energizers, being with family, and spoiling her dogs. These things tell what she did, but they do not tell who she was. Our Aunt Jeannie was kind, gentle, loving, generous, gracious, and happy. She always found something positive to say even in a negative situation. She did not criticize. She did not raise her voice; she quietly and calmly helped all of us to be better people. Our Aunt Jeannie is irreplaceable. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 2:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Trussville, with Bro. Ray Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
