Euel Braxton McKinney

Euel Braxton McKinney, age 84 passed away on April 3rd, 2014. He was a resident of Gardendale.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Louise Tolleson McKinney, and his parents Lucille H. and William H. McKinney.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne McKinney; son, Eric Mark McKinney, of Gardendale; sisters: Judy Croft, of Leeds, Fay Taylor, of New Castle and Jean Newton, of Warrior; brothers: Dalton McKinney, of Birmingham, Ray McKinney, of New Castle, Charles McKinney, of New Castle and a host of family and friends.

He was a 1948 graduate of Jefferson County High School; a member of the 1949 Birmingham Barons Team; served in the United States Army 1951-1953; Class of 1958 Auburn University graduate; member of the American Legion and a member of New Castle United Methodist Church. He retired from Alabama Power with 36 years of service.

He was a great father and family man. He enjoyed playing golf, watching a variety of sports and spending time with his daughter.

Visitation will be at 11:00 am on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville with services following at 12:00 noon.
