Eric Scott McKay, age 62, of Pelham, AL went to Heaven on January 19, 2025.Scott was loved dearly by so many. He was a big man with an even bigger heart. Scott had the sweetest soul and best personality that made anyone he met feel like an instant best friend. The party did not start until he walked in – always smiling, singing, hugging, laughing, and dancing. He had the most hilarious antics that would have the whole place laughing to tears. Sad faces were not acceptable when Scott was in the room because he would give it his all to turn that frown upside down. Every person he ever met has an absolutely freaking hilarious “Scott” story. He lived life to the fullest and always with a big bear hug and a smile. He was devoted to his family and friends and will be missed forever.He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Ann Larimer McKay, father, Carl T. McKay, Sr., brother, Steve McKay. He is survived by his wife, Cherri McKay; mother-in-law, Margie Graham; brother-in-law, Bobby Graham; daughters, Robin McDermond and Sarah (Taylor) Compton, beloved grandsons, Benjamin and Cooper Compton; brothers Jim McKay (Karen), Carl T. McKay III (Sue), and David Larimer; sisters Mary Ann Corley (Billy Ray), and Sue Dunn (Doug); 20 nieces and nephews, and over 30 great nieces and nephews; and lifelong best friends John Gilreath, Dean Richardson, Mike Gay, Traci (Todd) Richardson, and Jay Hoss.Pall Bearers: Joe McKay, Jonathan Montgomery, Gage McKay, Mickey Hamaker, Jonathan Buorque, John Gilreath, Dean Richardson, Taylor Compton, and Richard Chapman.Scott’s family will be honoring his life at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, beginning visitation at 8:30 a.m. with graveside service to follow at 10:00 a.m. in Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining gardens.
