Era Blankenship

BLANKENSHIP, SHEILA WANDA, age 77, of Hoover, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was member of the Birmingham Duplicate Bridge Club and had achieved Life Master status in tournament play. She was a world traveler and loved spending time at the beach with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Annie Williams, and brother, Jock Williams. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Charles Blankenship; children, Joseph Blankenship, wife Cindy and family, of Houston, Texas; Mark Blankenship, wife Becky and family, of Hoover, Alabama; two sisters, Elaine Davis of Wetumpka, Alabama, and Gayl Runnels, husband Bill, of Wewahitchka, Florida; one brother, Roger Williams, wife Kay, of Westpoint, Georgia; sister-in-law, Pat Williams, of Acworth, Georgia; grandson, Daniel Blankenship, of Dallas, Texas; her many nieces and nephews; a very dear friend, Cindy Wright, of Odenville, Alabama; her many bridge club friends; her caring AlaCare Hospice nursing staff, especially DeRae Shuffler and Brenda Hobbs. She was loved by so many and will be sorely missed. Visitation for family and friends will be at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, Alabama from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008. Funeral services will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, October 24, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.
