Eloise Lola Caldwell, 95, longtime resident of Trussville, passed away peacefully on July 25th at St. Vincent’s East, surrounded by her closest family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence R. Caldwell, oldest son Jack O’Dell, and siblings: Austin Kanaday, Houston Kanaday & Maxine Mitchell
She will be deeply missed and Lovingly remembered by those she leaves behind, including: her son David O’Dell (Cindy,) daughter Terri Caldwell Meeks (Jimmy,) niece Lynn Cox , grandsons Drew Caldwell (Andrea) Taylor Caldwell, Brian O'Dell (Emily) and Ryan Connell (Ashley) granddaughters Amanda Harper (Eric) , Lola Elizabeth and Erin Teague (Heath) great grandchildren: Isaiah, Bella, Harrison, Sarah Katherine, Austin, Ethan, Bailee, Blakely, Emmie, Carter, Camdyn, Taytum and Beckham.
Eloise was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Trussville for nearly 60 years. In addition to staying active in her elderly small group, she enjoyed crocheting blankets for NICU babies for the Threads of Love ministry.
She had a 40+ year career with the Social Security Administration. She was always proud and grateful for her civil service position with the United States government.
She never expected her life would end up being 34,718 days in length. Needless to say, she was ready to go!
Visitation will be at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home from 2:00-2:30 p.m. with services beginning at 2:30 PM in the chapel and internment to follow. A celebration of her life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Trussville immediately after the services.
