Ellen White

Ellen Faye Hastings White, age 91, of Center Point, Alabama, passed away on Saturday September 14, 2019. She was born in Ardmore, Alabama on February 22, 1928. She is preceded in death by her parents, George Otta Hastings and Martha Ferguson Hastings; her twin sister, Helen Hastings Bounds; and the love of her life, her husband of 70 years, James Toney. White. She is survived by her children, James Michael White (Stephanie) and Toni White Lawson (Fred); grandchildren, Moni White, Eric Lawson, and Ellie Green (Kevin); great-grandchildren, Stephanee Simmons, Brett Barron, Whitley Lawson, and Jaxon Glenn; great-great-grandchilren, Farrah Simmons and Raiyna Simmons; sisters, Aurelia Thaxton (Jim) and Sharon Hurst (Ralph). Ellen worked for 30 years in the men's department at Pizitz/McRae's in Roebuck. She was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church. A visitation will be held Tuesday September 17,2019 from 11 am- 12 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with a service to follow at 12 pm. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
