Elizabeth (Libby ) Evans Stevens passed away on December 28, 2019 Surrounded by her Loving Family. Libby was born and raised in Birmingham and graduated from Phillips High School in 1957. Libby loved her family dearly and was a wonderful daughter, wife, Mother, grandmother and friend. She was better known to all as "Nanny". "Nanny" will be greatly missed but her memory will carry on forever through her granddaughters and great grandchildren. Libby is preceded in death by her father, James (Jim) Reece Evans, and her Mother, Sarah Alice Peterson and her Brother, James Robert ( Bob) Evans. Libby is survived by her adoring husband of 62 years, Edgar (Ed) Albert Stevens, her son, James Richard (Rick) Stevens, and her daughter - in -law Paige Moreland Stevens, her daughter, Lynn Stevens Estes and her son in law, Jim Ernest Estes, and her sister in laws, Junie Chavis Evans and Alagene Stevens and Life long Best Friend Mary Catherine Browne. Also her 5 Granddaughters Caitlin Stevens Post and her husband Daniel Post, Eleanor Elizabeth May Hawkins and her husband, Peter Hawkins, Sarah May Holmes and her Husband Benjamin Holmes, Alice (Ali) May Rodgers and her husband Dylan Rodgers and Miss Anna Katherine May. Libby also has 3 Great Grandchildren,
Jovie Post, Arie Post and Baby Jack Hawkins. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. The family requests that guests attending her service dress in very casual attire. In lieu of flowers, Ed requests that you purchase something "special" for your family this Holiday Season in Honour of Elizabeth. He feels this would be very appropriate for Libby was such a Special and Giving person for all of her 80 years. Immediately after the service, "4pm-6:30pm" all are invited for a time of food and fellowship and celebration and remembrance at the Estes home.
