Elaine Wright

Elaine Wentzell Wright, 81, of Birmingham, AL died peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 17, 2017. She suffered a sudden, massive series of strokes beginning early Sunday morning November 12th , which were brought on by an unknown AVM rupture in her brain. She was a wonderful Christian mother of three, grandmother to nine and great grandmother to four. She was a loving wife to Theo Pat Wright for 57 years, who passed away July 1, 2014. She was a long-time and very active member of Huffman Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was predeceased by her parents Oscar and Helen Wentzell. She is survived by her brothers Merle and Philip Wentzell and by her sisters, Winnie Starnes and Patricia Hofer and her three children, Nancy Conwell (Don), Anita Wright (Greg) and Brian Wright (Emily). Visitation is planned at Jefferson Memorial East on Hwy 11 in Trussville on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 10:00 - 11:30am, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:30am to 12:30pm. The graveside burial service will be held at 2:30pm at Ryan Baptist Church in Hulaco, AL. The Officiating Minister will be Rev. Larry Smith from Huffman Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Huffman Baptist Church Youth Fund and/or Big Oak Ranch are encouraged and appreciated.
