Edwin Paschal

Edwin McGee Paschal, age 83, of Birmingham and a native of Enterprise AL, passed away June 11, 2012. Edwin was a graduate of Enterprise High School and Auburn University. He worked for the Jefferson County Department of Health for over 40 years. Edwin was a founding member of Deerfoot Baptist Church and a choir member for many years. He was a loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He loved cooking, gardening and was much adored by his grandchildren and dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents Xenea Ellis Paschal and Samuel McGee Paschal, nephews Mark Paschal Lindsey and Rick Childree. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 13, at 11am at Mt Olive Church Cemetery in Trussville. Dr. Wayne Scott will officiate. Visitation will be from 9am until 11am at Deerfoot Baptist Church. Edwin leaves behind his wife of 53 years Mae Bennett Paschal, daughters Lara Paschal Smith (Paul) and their children Ryan and Jared, Retta Paschal Johnson and her children Jenna and Caroline, Elana Paschal Ingram (Jeff) and their children Xan and Jack, and Beverly Baxter (Jeff) and their children Lauren, Alexa and Zeke, sisters Amorette Paschal Lindsey (Max) and SaraNell Paschal Williams, many nieces, nephews, a host of friends, and his very special friends Tag and Buttons. The family wishes much love and many, many thanks to Patsy Esco, Carolyn Helms, Comfort Care Hospice, Keasha Pickett, Nancy Dubois, Paula Bumpas, Peachtree Assisted Living in Trussville, and Carroll Pharmacy in Clay.
