Edward Blake

Edward Allen Blake, 62 of Gardendale passed away on March 3, 2012. Born April 25, 1949, Ed married Phyllis Anita Burbage July 10, 1970. Ed worked at H.N. Donahoo for many years as a demolition engineer. He and his crew worked on the Red Mtn. cut in the early 1970's. After retirement, he enjoyed yard work for himself and others. He was a gifted mechanic and was known for his ability to fix anything. He was an avid reader and was always interested in learning new things. Ed is survived by his wife; sisters, Ann Blake (Peter Davis) and Tammy McCullar (Keith); sisters in law, Cynthia Smith (Ric) and Janice Lawless and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8 beginning at 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Graveside Services at 1:00 PM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
