Edna Addie Haltiwanger Pond passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, December 3, 2021. She was 95 years old at the time of her passing. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ella Jane and Joseph Haltiwanger; her sons, Mickael and Timothy; and her many siblings. She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Five grandchildren, and numerous Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
There are many words to describe Edna. Orphan. Entrepreneur. Survivor. Gardener. We believe the most fitting is Mother of Many.
No one could walk into her house without feeling the love she had for everyone. Edna would happily give someone the shirt off her back, her last bite of food, or her last coin. So long as you stayed on her good side and did your best to keep moving forward, she would be there for you to the very end. It didn’t matter if you were related to her, or just a friend. She took care of you.
If there were more people like Edna in the world, it would be a far better place. She is the person all should strive to be. The world has become a little worse for her loss, but her memory shall live on forever. She will be loved and missed by all that knew her.
May she forever drive the endless fields of heaven in her pickup, with Ginger in the passenger seat.
We love you, and we will miss you.
