Edna H. Grund
December 15, 1919-March 3, 2015
Edna was born to Luther and Florence Lynn in Cullman Alabama, She was one of ten children. Edna passed away March 3, 2015 at 95 years of age. Edna graduated from Good Hope High School in Cullman, AL. She married John L Grund on August 1, 1940. After a Honeymoon at Guntersville Lake they lived in an Apartment in Hanceville. In 1942 they moved to Birmingham so John could work at Hayes aircraft. Later that year Janice Marie was born. In 1950 they bought a motel on First Ave North in Birmingham and lived there while they managed the Motel and a Watch Shop. Two sons, Michael and Terry were born while living there. Edna was a good business person managing the motel until 2001. The motel was more like a bed and breakfast than a motel. She was a caring woman and a loving Mom and will be greatly missed. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her husband John L. Grund after 65 years of marriage and daughter Janice Marie Grund Eulitz. She is survived by two sons, Micheal (Myra) Grund, Terry (Sheryl) Grund, grandchildren Christopher Grund, Rachel (Paul) Norris, Matthew Grund, Jonathan Grund, Amanda Grund, Robert Eulitz. Great grandchildren, Philip and Payton Norris. Two sisters, Lacie Harris and Gracie Tapscott and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Alabama or the Lovelady Center. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6th from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Jefferson Memorial Chapel at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6th. Burial will immediately follow. Pastor Tom Lackey is officiating.
