Edgar Anderson Looney Jr. age 98 went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2021. Ed’s life was highlighted by his faithfulness to his family, church, and friends. He was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Ed served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He graduated from the University of Alabama after his service to his country. Much of his career was at Hayes Aircraft and Bagby Elevator in Birmingham. Ed was an avid Alabama football fan and loved going to see his “Crimson Tide” play football. The word that describes him best is integrity. He was a man of integrity in how he lived his life.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Anderson and Wilma Bristow Looney; brother and sister, Walter Orden Looney and Mary Sue Looney Seals; and son, John David Looney.
Ed is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Looney; two sons, Eddie (Debbie) Looney and Zach (Yvonne) Looney; five grandchildren, Nathan Looney, Brandon (Micheal) Looney, Laura Perry, Chris (Carey) Looney, and Scott (Kim) Looney; and seven great grandchildren, Ryan Perry, Cohen Looney, Harper Looney, Miles Looney, Emma Looney, Camina Looney, and Andy Looney.
