EASTERS, EARNEST EUGENE age 89, of Cook Springs, AL went home to be with His Lord on Good Friday, March 29, 2013. He was born December 10, 1923, in Georgia. He served his country in the Army, during WWII and afterwards he lived in Florida for many years. He worked as a highway construction foreman and truck driver until he moved to AL in 1974. He was the co- owner of the Jiffy Food Mart in Roebuck Plaza for 21 years. He always loved car travel, gospel singing, fishing, sugar free banana pudding and his pet dogs. During the last 2 years of his life, he found deep enjoyment in reading the Bible and attending his church. He truly loved the Lord and all the members of The Healing Place in Trussville, AL. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Cagle Easters and two step-daughters Dale (Mike) Harry and Debra (Cromwell) Josey, both of Jefferson Co. AL. Also survived by two sons, Melvin (Margarete) Easters of Leeds, AL, and Charles (Alicia) Easters of Zepharhills, FL and his first wife, Alice Mattie-lou Stump, of Plant City, FL. Also survived by four step-daughters of the late Vivian Moffatt Easters - Lyn (Ed) Mardant, Lee Myrick, Diane (Buddy) Price, Donna (Dennis) Brooks, all of Jefferson Co. AL. He has one beloved brother, Cyrus (Ruth) Easters of GA, and two sweet sisters, Beatrice Hill and Jeanie (Jim) Elliott, both of TX. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his surviving 23 grand children, 33 great- grand children, and 4 great- great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Hill; brothers, Eston Easters and Dewey Easters; great grandson, Troy Easters; and namesake grandson, Daniel Eugene Price. Services will be Monday April 1st 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville, AL. Visitation is from 12-2 p.m. The service begins at 2 pm followed by burial in the Gardens. Reverend Randy Smith of The Healing Place will officiate.
