Dr. James Brittain

Dr. James L. Brittain, age 83, of Birmingham passed away on January 4, 2022. He was a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Seminary. He served in Ministry for over 50 years, 25 of which he spent doing missionary work in Russia, which included starting Churches, developing pastoral schools, and establishing camps for children and their families. He was also the founder of the Barnabas Foundation. Dr. Brittain was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Brittain; and his grandsons, Marcus Corn and Zachary Brittain. He is survived by his children, Carla Corn (Larry), Alan Brittain (Suzan), Timothy Brittain (Kim); his grandchildren, Faith Carr (David), Hunter Corn, Shea Brittain, Jake Brittain, Christopher Brittain (Alexis), Kenneth Westerfield, Pam Haldi (Danny), Bethany Westerfield; 15 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Radford Brittain. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 10, at 12pm in the Chapel at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
