Dorothy "Dot" Joan Davis MeGahee, 89, of Birmingham, Alabama, peacefully departed this earth to obtain her reward in the kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, October 24, 2021. She was born on February 28, 1932 in Columbus, Georgia to Coley and Rowene Davis of Phenix City, Alabama. She was a beloved wife and mother and also an active grandmother and great-grandmother. Dot was a devout Christian and faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Center Point and the UMW, serving her community as a dedicated volunteer with Meals on Wheels for decades. Dot was an avid fan of Auburn University football as well as a keen bridge and Scrabble player. Ever a kind and helpful soul, she also baked the most wonderful caramel cake. She is preceded in death by her husband W.C. "Mac" MeGahee Jr., parents Coley B. Davis, Sr. and Rowene Gilliland Davis, and her three brothers Gary Davis, Coley B. Davis, Jr., and twin brother Donald Davis. She is survived by her three daughters Melanie (Steve) Pendergrass, Mindy MeGahee, and Meredith (Neil Sr.) Clement; her seven grandchildren Audrey (Benjamin) Rickle, Stephanie (Frank) Webster, Dorothy (Nathaniel) Faulkenberry, Neil (Paige) Clement Jr., Emily (Austin) Scott, Andrew (Morgan) Clement, and Olivia Clement; and great-grandchildren Isabella, Adelaide and Sebastian Faulkenberry, and Valerie Clement. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28, at 11 a.m. CT, followed by a memorial service at 12 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, Alabama. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 29, at 1 p.m. ET at Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington, Georgia. Guests are encouraged to wear something green as that was Dot's favorite color.
