Dorothy L Funderburg Bowden Crowe passed July 13, 2016 just 4 hours shy of her 94th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mack A. Bowden and Richard Harry Crowe, and by her son Rocky Bowden. She is survived by her children, Steve R Bowden and wife Mary, John F Bowden and wife Deborah, and Sandra Bowden Box and husband Stuart, Richard Crowe and wife Sheryl, and Candy O'Neill and husband Darrel, 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great Great Grandchildren. She was the oldest of 6 children with 5 brothers, 3 of whom survive her. Dot was born in the Mill Village in Pell City where her parents worked for many years. She attended elementary school having Iola Roberts as her teacher. She went on to attend Woodlawn High School, where she was a cheerleader. Dot went on to marry her high school sweetheart. For the next 29 years her life as full of raising kids all the while working at several prominent Birmingham business. In 1978, she married for the second time and spent the next 23 years traveling and seeing the world. Dot returned to her home on Logan Martin Lake to live out her life with family and friends. Services for Mrs. Crowe will be held at Jefferson Memorial Saturday morning July 16. Visitation will be at 11:00 AM with services following at Noon. The family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Alzheimers Association to the American Cancer Society. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
