Dorothy Trotter “Dottie” Anderson, age 98, beloved mother, died August 30, 2018. She was born to Benjamin Hudson Trotter and Myrtle Glenn Trotter on January 6, 1920 in Carbon Hill, Alabama. She grew up in Amory, Mississippi and attended High School there. She graduated from Birmingham Southern College with B.S. in Biology during the spring of 1942. She married William H. “Andy” Anderson on August 14, 1942. They lived in San Antonio, Texas during WWII where she worked as a Bacteriologist at Fort Sam Houston and Aviation School of Medicine for 10 years. They later moved back to Birmingham. In 1965 the family received Christ as Savior and Lord. They attended Grace Bible Church in Center Point, Alabama where she helped found and was Principal of Grace Christian School from 1972-1982. Together they served the Lord. In 1975 they moved to Little Shenandoah in Blount County, Alabama and continued their service. Dottie is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Patti” Anderson; four nephews, and a niece. Thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses at St. Vincent’s Blount and Birmingham. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Vincent’s Home Health and Hospice, Big Oak Ranch or Jimmie Hale Mission. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, September 5th at 2:00 p.m. Brother Don Fox is officiating.
