Doris Nelson grew up in Tarrant, AL, where she met and married her childhood sweetheart, Earl Nelson. After they married, they moved to Chattanooga, TN. Jobs took them back home to Birmingham, AL for awhile, then moved them to Montgomery, AL, Seattle, WA and Cincinnati, OH. Doris and Earl had many adventures. After Earl passed away in 1992, Doris lived in both Hoover, AL and Madison, AL. She got to enjoy grandchildren and getting her beloved dog, Biscuit. Also, Doris faithfully watched over her parents and Earl’s parents. Doris was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, wife and mother who had a strong, determined spirit. Even in the last few years of her life, she did what she could and fought through health challenges. She encouraged others even at her worst moments. Doris will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we are grateful and happy that she is pain free, restored and in Heaven with God and preceding family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Nelson, parents, Arlin and Ada Richards and mother-in law and father-in-law, Fred and Ulma Nelson. She is survived by her daughter, Taiitha Newton (Stephen); sons, Bryan Nelson and Stephen Nelson (Kerstin); grandchildren, Laura, Chanse, Jessica, Aileena, Joshua, Michael and Katarina; great grandson, Samuel.
