Doris Klevar

Doris Kathleen Dean Klevar was born on August 23, 1926 to parents, Jack M. Dean and Inez Sivley Dean, who were deceased in 1991 and 1992. She grew up in the Woodlawn and East Lake area and has lived in the North Shelby (Brook Highland) area. Doris attended Woodlawn High School "Class of 1944" and attended their Luncheon Meetings and kept in touch with former classmates. She was employed with CBI in Birmingham and Chicago for 14 years where she met her husband, Mel. Upon their return to Birmingham she worked for AAA of Alabama for 25 years. She held several positions in AAA and represented them in the "Executive Women's International" organization and attended The Salvation Army meetings. Doris is survived by her husband of 58 years, Melvin Klevar; their two children, Timothy J. Klevar (Karen) of Minneapolis, MN and Tracy A. Klevar of Birmingham, AL; two grandchildren, Kirsten Alexandra Klevar and Eric Michael Klevar of Minneapolis. Kirsten graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2012 and Eric attends the University of Minn. in Duluth, MN. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Dean Carlisle (Robert) of Montgomery, AL. Services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 2pm at Jefferson Memorial Chapel with visitation held one hour prior to service. Entombment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
