Doris Hafner

Doris "Dot" McCord Hafner passed away on April 26, 2009 at the age of 85. Dot was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at Huffman Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Oliver B. Hafner; her two children, Ray McCord and Janis McCord; her parents, Hugh W. and Clara Mitchell; and brother, Hugh W. Mitchell, Jr. She is survived by three children, Ginger Barbee (Ronald), Deborah Schilleci (Vinnie), and Sam McCord (Sandee); a loving sister-in-law, Sylvia Mitchell; two step children, the late Bob Hafner (Nancy) and Larry Hafner (Judy); six grandchildren, Julie Foster (Greg), Vince Schilleci III (Anne), Jonathan Barbee, Deborah Anne Barbee, Sarah Moran (John), and Sam McCord Jr.; two great grandchildren, Anna Bella Foster and Savannah Rain Moran and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Hugh Mitchell III, John Mitchell, Brad Hicks, Steve Guesman, Jonathan Barbee, Vince Schilleci, Greg Foster, John Moran and Sam McCord Jr. Donations may be made to United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28 from 5:00 i�½" 8:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Trussville with Chapel services Wednesday at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
