age 79, of Birmingham, AL passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014. Doris was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana where she spent the earliest years of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes for over 40 years. She volunteered much of her time at the church helping others in any way she could. Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed greatly by all that knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ben Gamble; daughters: Ellen Terry (Jay), Diane Hopkins (Dave), and Sandra Lehmann (Michael); one sister, Margaret Colomb; seven grandchildren: Joseph Hopkins (Lindsay), Jaclyn Terry, Jeff Terry, Theresa Lehmann, Veronica Lehmann, Rachel Lehmann, and Paul Lehmann. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 15th at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in Trussville. Father Andrew Kennedy is officiating. Family requests that in lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Heart Association. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville is directing.
