Dora Coggins

Mrs. Dora Faye Zimmerman Coggins , age 85, was born in Clanton, Al to Lucien Oliver Zimmerman and Nora Bell Thompson Zimmerman. Mrs. Coggins was a member of McElwain Baptist Church where she served as Child Care Director from 1980 until 1988. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cindy Coggins. Survivors include her husband of 68 years Royal J. Coggins, Jr.; two daughters; Ellen (Gordon) Mahathey and Lona (Kenny) Reeve; three sons, Joe (Janet) Coggins, John (Traci) Coggins and Mark (Lori) Coggins; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Walton Bradford, Rob Harris, David Rorex, Miles Coggins, Duncan Ward and Alex Coggins .Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Trussville, Al. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the funeral home Tuesday. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Jefferson Memorial East directing services. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donation be given to the American Cancer Society .Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
