Donna M. Carr, 82, of Warrior, AL passed away on March 16, 2022. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Warrior, AL, and previously Plainview Baptist Church in Tarrant, AL. Donna was a 1957 graduate of Hewitt-Trussville High School. She had a 35-year career as an elementary teacher, serving the majority of her career in kindergarten at Tarrant Elementary School. Donna was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, and long-time supporter of and prayer warrior for those serving in the mission field. She herself took the love of Jesus to China on several short-term assignments teaching conversational English to Chinese teachers. Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Reverend Kenneth A. Carr, her parents Harold and Lucille Meadows, and her brother Harold “Butch” Meadows. She is survived by her four daughters Rebecca Carr (Janice Edwards) of Harpersville, AL, Lauri McKinley (Dan) of Tarrant, AL, Gayle Ledbetter (Ed) of Warrior, AL, and Debbie McCain (Rodney) of Oneonta, AL, as well as her very special friend Betty Miller. Her legacy extends to her six grandchildren Rachel Schory (Kelly) of Franklin, GA, Lee Edwards (Carly) of Oxford, AL, Mark Edwards (Morgan) of Atlanta, GA, Ramey Edwards of Oxford, AL, Elizabeth Tucker (Steve) of Florence, AL, and Will McCain (Nicole) of Boca Raton, FL; four great-grandchildren Benjamin and Annabelle Schory, and Emily and Sarah Grace Edwards. Other loving family include sister-in-law Mary Hand (Don) and brother-in-law Bill Carr (Brenda), nephews and a niece.
