Donald Laird

Donald E. Laird, age 82 of Birmingham, AL passed away on December 24, 2017. He was born in Blount County, AL. He served in the U.S. Air Force and he graduated from Auburn University. He retired from Conner Steel and Alabama Power Company. He was a member of Huffman Baptist Church and Ruhama Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lillian Bates and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Laird. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Laird; children Scott Laird (Sandy) and Elizabeth Lanier (Glenn); grandchildren, Caleb (Brittney), Evan, Seth, Eden, Alexander and Jackson; great grandchildren, Zoey and Jaxson; sisters, Frances Slayton (Bill) and Sandra Richardson (Griz); brother-in-law, David Musselwhite (Louise) and many nieces and nephews. Services will be on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Blountsville City Cemetery. Rev. Larry Smith will be officiating over the services. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
