Donald Capps

Mr. Capps passed away early Sat. morning as he lost his longtime enemy with cancer, but Heaven gained a great man in Don Capps. Mr. Capps was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Capps, his wife of 66 years, Bertha, and his son, David Capps. Survived by his son, Michael Capps, daughter, Nancy Capps Beck. Don had his grandchildren, Christopher Beck (Wendy), Melisa Beck and Ashley Beck. Great grandchildren, Rylee Sue Beck, Mason Beck and Nola Thompson. Also plenty of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4th at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville at 12pm, with Bro. Larry Wimberly officiating. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. The family would like to thank all of Don's Wahouma friends and all of his printing friends. Mr. Capps retired from the Birmingham News in 1985.
