Donald E. Cox, II, age 54 of Trussville, AL passed away on February 7, 2010. He was a member of The Summit Church at Birmingham, where he was a board member. He was a Scout Leader with The Boy Scouts, Troup 216 in Trussville and 351 in Huffman. He was employed with The Veteran Administration Hospital as the Director on Quality Care and he previously worked at Carraway and UAB Hospitals. He graduated from UAB with double masters in trauma and administration. Donald was known as a man of honor and integrity. He was an unbelievable son, husband, and father. He carried himself with deep dignity and purpose. He was known as a leader amongst leaders. He was a man of compassion. He was deeply loved by all who met him. He was an avid Alabama Fan and a Disney aficionado. He was passionate about the worship of his Savior, Jesus Christ. We look forward to worshipping with him in heaven. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Cox; sons, Christopher Parker Cox and Andrew Patrick Cox; parents, Donald E. Cox, Sr. and Bettye Jo Cox; sister, Donna Moore; mother-in-law, Grace K. Simmons; host of family and friends. Services will be Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Patrick Schatzlin will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Summit Church at Birmingham Building Fund, P.O. Box 1150, Trussville, AL 35173. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
