Dixie Alice Missildine

Dixie Alice Missildine, born April 7, 1940, passed into Eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 9, 2025. Dixie was the daughter and third child to Tobe and Lois Louise Murray Missildine. She is survived by her younger brother, Dennis Robert Missildine, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; William Earl, Earnest Carl, Donald Clifford, John Allan, and Susan Ann (Moody). Dixie will be remembered for her faith in Christ and her spirit of generosity.

Dixie attended Alabama College in Montevallo where she was awarded her Bachelor of Science degree. She later returned to the newly named University of Montevallo where she received her Master of Education. She taught over thirty years with the Tarrant City School System where she poured her life into her students and athletes. Dixie enjoyed meeting former students around town when they were all grown up.

Dixie remained a dedicated lifelong member of Palmerdale United Methodist Church (now Compassion Church Palmerdale) where she was a friend to all, especially the children, the youth and her special group of church friends, the Happy Hearts.

In accordance with Dixie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sending memorials to Compassion Church Palmerdale, 7776 AL Hwy 75, Pinson, AL 35126, or to your favorite charity in Dixie’s name.
