Diana Layton

Diana Cherle Vanover Layton, age 74, of Birmingham passed away on October 3, 2016. Her life work was devoted to her children, church and the schools her children attended. She was a member of Robinwood Baptist Church, Robinwood, AL, Walker's Chapel Baptist Church and Fultondale First Baptist Church, both located in Fultondale, Alabama. She was preceded in death her father and mother, Charles and Dorthy Vanover, of Waukegan, Illinois. She is survived by her children, Dr. J. Steven Layton (Melinda), Mike Layton (Cynthia), Lisa Eversole (Rick), David Layton (Chassity); her grandchildren, Kristen (Reid) Patton, Meaghan Kinkade (Brent), Matthew Layton, Michael Layton, John Davis (Megan), Elizabeth Layton, MJ Layton, Riley Manasco, Kelley (Bill) Atkinson, Samantha Eversole, Van (Candra), Dylan Layton, Walker Layton; and her great grandchildren, Ceile Ruth Patton, Will, Brantley, Austin, Caroline, Maxine, Kadence, Kennedi, Paxton Layton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5 at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville from 5-7pm. Celebration of Life service will be on Thursday, October 6 at Jefferson Memorial at 12pm, with Rev. Jennifer Riddle officiating. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and friends in the McNeil House, St. Martins in the Pines; Administrative and Pastoral Care Staff and friends at Saint Martin's in the Pines, Members and friends at Fultondale First Baptist Church, Dr. Harold Simon, MD.
