Deon Bookout

Bookout, Deon, 72, of Hoover, Ala. passed away August 30. She was born September 10, 1939 in London, England, the daughter of Edward and Kathleen Briton Bookout. In 1957, she graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School. Ms. Bookout went on to work as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines. She later enjoyed a career in retail as an assistant buyer for Loveman's Department store and as a sales representative for Revlon and Hanes. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, traveling and her pets. She was active in her neighborhood association and volunteered at Hoover Library and Brookwood Hospital. She was a member of St. Matthews Anglican Church, where she served on the altar guild. Ms. Bookout is survived by two brothers, Daryn Bookout (Vickie) and David Bookout; her nieces Bari Bookout, Shannon Aden (Clint) and Brittiny Russell (Jack); her nephew Joshua Bookout; great nieces Rylee and Addison Aden; great nephew Cam Aden; and her best friends Faye Vines and Jean Arthington. The family would like to express deepest thanks to Dr. Luis Pineda, his staff and the nurses at Brookwood Hospital. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 3, at 11am at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 2565 Rock Ridge Road.
