Roma Bounds

Roma W Bounds of Homewood AL passed away on August 29, 2020 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband, Lt. Col. Malcolm S Bounds. Survivors include her daughter, Roxanne Batson, son-in-law Richard Batson, and grandchildren William Turner Batson and Sadie Elizabeth Storey. Roma was born in Birmingham on December 5, 1930. In her early 20's she met and married a career Air Force fighter pilot and moved around the world before settling back in Birmingham. Roma was active in supporting the Equal Rights Admendment movement and helped promote career women as President of The Business and Professional Women' Club (BPW). She worked as an Executive Assistant over 25 years to 4 Presidents of Bama Food Products. She also served on the board of The Salvation Army and her condominium association as well as acted as a volunteer and fund raiser for Medical Center East. Funeral arrangements are unknown at this time until the family can meet with the directors of Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, where she will be buried.
