David Wood

David E. Wood, age 67 of Trussville, AL passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015. David retired from the U.S. Military after 24 years of service. He retired from Jefferson County Schools after 25 years of service as an electrician. David was preceded in death by his father, Jack D. Wood; mother, Annie Jean Sherer, step-father, Hollis Sherer; brother, Robert A. Wood. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Wood; daughters, Dana Suggs, Tracy Ervin (Randy) and Michelle Young (Douglas); brother, Charlie Sherer (Mary); sister, Dona Gillis; grandchildren, Cody and Heather Suggs, Tyler Ervin and Kain Knight; great grandchildren, Hannah Suggs and Casey Suggs; he also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, September 8th at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Visitation for family will be from 12pm until 1pm and for friends of the family from 1pm until 2pm. Burial will take place at Jefferson Memorial Gardens' Field of Honor immediately following the service. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville is directing.
