David Lee Walker, age 30, died October 2, 2014. Married 3 years to Katherine (Kate) Leigh Walker, formerly Jenkins. He is a graduate of Jefferson County International Baccalaureate High School and Birmingham Southern College, where he met Kate; he also received his Masters in Engineering from Auburn University. He worked for the Bechtel Corporation and traveled around the country as a site engineer and was presently living in Knoxville, TN. David and Kate enjoyed traveling and spending time with their many friends and family. He was a blessing and inspiration to all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Garth and Betty Jensen. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Kate; his parents Ken and Susan Walker; his grandparents Clyde Ray and Ann Walker; and his sister Lindsay Walker. He also leaves behind his family by marriage including; grandparents-in-Law Jack and Mary Webster, his Mother-in-Law Wanda Jenkins, Sisters-in-Law Erin Donahue (Steven) and Claire Jenkins; Nieces and nephew Emma and Abby Donahue and Nicholas and Isabella Wood. David is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with a service to follow at 2:00pm. Officiating will be David's lifelong friend Reverend Wade Langer. In lieu of donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Ireland Way, Suite 201, Birmingham, AL 352057014. Jefferson Memorial East directing the services.
