Daniel Garrett

Daniel Justice Garrett, Sr., age 89, died on September 17, 2013. Mr. Garrett was a WWII Army veteran and a retired City of Birmingham fireman. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Moody, AL and a former member of 85th Street Baptist Church, Birmingham, AL. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years, Hilda Lewis Garrett and his son, Daniel J. Garrett, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Una Muriel Garrett; sons, Cary O. Garrett, Gregory A. Garrett (Kenna) and Kym L. Garrett (Andre); daughter-in-law, Marcia D. Garrett; stepsons, W. Wayne Hudson (Sue) and Larry L. Hudson (Brenda); brother, Charles E. Garrett; grandson, Matthew B. Garrett (Amanda); one great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and the Hudson family, including five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Chris Burns will be officiating over the services.
