He was predeceased by his parents Rubye M. Vickers and John C. Vickers of Birmingham.
His son Drew Vickers and his granddaughter Madilyn R. Vickers, his brother, Dane Vickers
He is survived by his daughter Amy Vickers and family.
As well as a plethora of close friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
Dale did not know many strangers, and was a hard person to forget.
He was eager to be a friend and support people he did not know in need.
He did not know how to say no to anyone who needed help, if he could he would.
He supported people right where they were, not where they needed to be.
He was the perfect dad for me because he instilled confidence and a belief that
I could accomplish anything by simply trying and making it happen through hard work.
His sense of humor would either turn your face red in a public place or was so contagious you had to join in.
Even in his last weeks, his sense of humor never faltered. His body was failing him and he knew the irony of being
Able to know everything and think clearly about everything, but not be able to move his hands or even swallow.
The disease stole his body but not his spirit.
He was able to laugh and smile and say I love you over and over again, and he was at peace. His heart was open,
And ready for his next journey. He was sad to leave this one, but he knew who he would get to see again and
The adventures he had ahead of him.
There is no sadness in a life well lived, and for the most part he had a really happy life.
I will miss you dad, but I know you are at a very big party having the time of your next life.
