Curry Dowdle Rosa, devoted daughter, beloved sister, aunt, friend, and child of God - passed from this life on earth October 7, 2013. Curry was 49 years old. Curry was born on December 16, 1963 at Norwood Hospital in Birmingham and grew up in Trussville, Alabama. Curry graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Environmental Science. Curry's career in industrial environmental management took her through Southern Research, Bhate Engineering, U.S. Pipe, and URS Corp's Westinghouse facility in Anniston. Curry was an active member, greeter, and prayer warrior at Grace Baptist Church in Oxford - helping lead their children's ministry, prayer ministry and food ministry. Curry's strong and outgoing Christian witness was the foundation of her life and was an inspiration to all who knew her personally and professionally. Curry is survived by her mother, Lois Dowdle, brother and sister in law Bill and Winky Dowdle, nieces and nephews Deanne and Steve Philhower, Kate and Jaime Mathews, and Will Dowdle, grandnephew Davis Philhower and grandniece Hunter Philhower, Aunt Joan Dowdle, and the families of her cousins Jeanne Rasco, Joanna May, and Jan and Mark Thornton. Curry was preceded in death by her father Tom Dowdle. Visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens from 1 until 2 PM Friday October 11th with chapel and graveside services following immediately.
