Connie Roberts

Connie Roberts, age 62, passed away on May 23, 2018. She is preceded in death by her father, Melvin Coleman; brothers, Charles Ray Coleman and Melvin Coleman Jr. She was known as “Big Mama” by her grandchildren and always made sure to spoil them any chance she got. Connie worked as a paralegal for Sirote and Permutt for over 20 years. She was a very loving, caring and doting mother and grandmother. She was a joy to anyone who met her and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved to read, spend time gardening, and spending time with her beloved cat Chunk. She recently became a member of Church of The Highlands at Grants Mill in Birmingham, Al. She is survived by her mother, Hilda McCulley; son, Robert G. Roberts IV (Hila); sisters, Margaret Adams (Gaylon), Charlene Coleman, Donna Gunter and Sandra Martin; brother, Gene Coleman (Teresa); precious grandchildren, Shaia and Gordon Roberts; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, Al on Saturday May 26, 2018 from 10am – 12pm. There will also be a visitation on Monday May 28, 2018 from 10am -11am at Mt Vernon United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon, Al. Funeral service will follow directly after. In lieu of flowers the family request donations are made to American Diabetes Association.
