Clermont "Chuck" Roberts, age 82, of Birmingham, Alabama, formerly of Kansas City and Topeka, Kansas, was born in North Carolina and passed away June 29, 2015. He was retired from the US Army with 20 years of service as a 1st Sargent serving a tour during Korea and 2 tours in Vietnam. He was a member of UMC Clay, Grand Mason, VFW, American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America, Shriner, and the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by his son Johnny Roberts, brother Harold Roberts, and sister Melody Stell. Chapel services will be held on Monday, July 6, at 2pm with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Reverend George Weeks will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon until service time Monday. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandra Roberts, stepdaughter Deb Foster, stepsons Dennis Creech, Larry Creech, and Mark Creech, sisters Dot Moore, Wanda Elliott, Linda Dinan, and Sandy Elwick, brothers R Jr. Whealton, and Jimmy Roberts, grandchildren Natasha Ellis, Kendra Tossie, Careen Creech and Jacqueline Alonzo, great grandchildren Madison, Jonah, Gabi, Weston, Carter and Sophia.
