Claudia Gaines

Claudia Gaines 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.
She was born on August 2,1926 to William and Lillie Benton.
Claudia went to Talladega  School for the Deaf and Blind where she met Edward Godsey and married after his graduation. Together they had 3 children.
After Edward’s death Claudia married William Gaines, the love of her life. They
loved their family, church and friends. They had almost 40 years together and were inseparable.
Claudia was preceded in death by her husband William Gaines, daughter Judith Godsey and son Ronney Godsey.
Claudia is survived by her loving daughter June Williams (Johnny), Step-daughter Sue Graham (Johnny), Son-In-Love Jim Darnell, Grandchildren Rachel Panter, Kellie Williams , Chase Williams and Great Grandson Lee Panter.
We want say a special thank you to the staff at Aspire Recovery and Southern Care Hospice who loved and cared for Claudia during her residency there.
A private family service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville on Monday, March 15,2021. Don Cross with Saint Mark UMC will officiate.
If desired donations  may be offered to Crippled Children’s Foundation in Birmingham.
