Claud Jones

Claud Raleigh Jones of, Birmingham, went home to be with our Lord on August 22, 2014. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Anne Bayliss Jones and sisters Lillian Jones Deale and Martha Jones Franklin. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Linda Jones Cornett (husband Robert) Tampa, Fl., Claudia Jones O'Rear (husband Jack) Tampa, Fl. and step daughter Jo Anne Dawkins (husband Tom) Pinson, Al., 3 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Jones was born October 14, 1922 in Birmingham. In recent years, he has been a resident at the VA Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, Al. He was a member of Inglenook Baptist Church, the Concordia Club, the Heart of Dixie Camping Club and the Masonic Lodge. In recent years, he and Anne attended Springville Road Church of Christ. Mr. Jones retired from Jim Walter Corp (formerly Sloss Foundry and U.S. Pipe & Foundry Company) . A celebration of life will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel in Trussville, on Friday August 29th at 11:00am. Visitation with family will be from 10:00a.m. until 11:00a.m. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Foundation.
